NYC Scent

November 17, 2012

September’s New York visit was chock-full of sensory delights. Meatball sampling, spending time with my beautiful niece Amanda, gallery visits, a stop-in at the Art House Co-op, and other paper-pulsing places like Printed Matter—fortunately back in action after hurricane Sandy.

A top note of the week was going on a Smell Walk with the wonderful Victoria Henshaw. You can check out my blog post on her work via ReThinking the City.

On your next neighborhood walk, limit your gaze or breath to one sense. Jot down your first impressions within your Destination Journal.

Awww, thanks for the lovely write-up, I so enjoyed meeting you in NYC. Remember the film crew that joined us? They’ve just finished their film and they’ve made such a wonderful job with it. Here’s the link to view it if you’re interested: https://vialogues.com/vialogues/play/6231

Hi lovely! Was the film crew via Studio X? Also, is your smell map ready to share?

Yes, it was the University of Columbia’s film crew, they have their own channel I think (or something along those lines)… Sadly the site isn’t ready yet *pulling hair out* :/ But, it is under development so that’s progress… Back in touch when have further update
