Scouting and Sniffing Locations

A deliberate focus on the senses and how they inspire creativity and our experiences in general is what DJ is all about. Currently, I’m scouting spaces for my next workshop (this Fall) that smell funny or funky with a firm or faint connection to the location.

Today, close your eyes and take a whiff around your surroundings. What do you smell? Do you enjoy or detest it? Now, open your eyes and jot down the smell details. How did they make you feel. Do they connect you to the space you’re in or jog a memory? Explore this further in your Destination Journal.
