Destination Wakulla.

Plants, synchronized swimming, grilled leeks, and a bright green bug. Monday’s DJ was full of colorful highlights thanks to the brilliant style of Alchemy’s team and friends. Alchemy’s owner and creator, Corinne, appreciates beauty and spontaneity, every day. Pre-holidays are no exception. The group celebrated the season at the Wakulla Suites in Cocoa Beach, Florida, and I was fortunate to have the opportunity to lead a Destination Journal session with this creative bunch.
Upon arrival, I did tear-up a bit. The last time I visited Wakulla was on a family vacation about nine years ago. My daughter and her cousins were running around the gorgeously landscaped grounds wearing American Indian costumes. The place brought back many great memories. This time, we weren’t wearing costumes, but we did run around looking at the plants, shuffleboard, pool, architecture, enjoying the sizzle and scents of the grill (leeks included) and the sense of “it still feels like Summer and aren’t we lucky.” Trish spotted an unusual green bug, trapezing in one of my duller hair locks. She’ll help me put an end that gray streak soon. After writing, drawing, painting, and experimenting with journal entries, we tackled the choreography of a synchronized swimming routine and mastered a potential Guinness Book of World Records feat. Thirteen beach lovers of life fitting into one hula hoop.
